A 34-year-old bank customer care executive was found dead inside an OYO hotel room in Hyderabad's SR Nagar on Tuesday after the man staying with her allegedly left the hotel early in the morning. Police are investigating the death as a suspected murder and are searching for her partner, identified as A Srinivas, 38.
Partner allegedly left hotel at 3.30am
The deceased, B Sirisha, was a bank customer care executive and a native of Nagasamudram in Vikarabad district. She was a divorcee and was reportedly in a relationship with Srinivas, who is from Obulapur village in the same district.
According to police, Srinivas had been staying at the hotel since September 9, while Sirisha checked into his room on September 24.
Police said the two allegedly used Aadhaar cards with false names as identity proof while checking into the hotel. Srinivas reportedly registered as Ganesh and Sirisha as Durga.
At around 3.30am on Tuesday, Srinivas allegedly left the hotel and told reception staff that Sirisha would leave later after breakfast.
However, she did not respond when hotel employees repeatedly rang the doorbell. When there was still no response by noon, the staff alerted police.
Police officers arrived at the hotel, and employees opened room No. 103 using a duplicate key. Sirisha was found dead on the bed, with a food plate beside her.
Police suspect late-night argument
Jubilee Hills DCP A Ramana Reddy said police suspect that Sirisha and Srinivas had an argument during the night and that Srinivas allegedly attacked her with a blunt object.
Police have registered a murder case against Srinivas under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
A Clues team examined the hotel room and collected forensic evidence. Police have also obtained CCTV footage from the hotel as part of the investigation.
Special teams have been formed to trace Srinivas. Police teams have been sent to his native village, while officers are also checking bus and railway stations to locate and apprehend him.
Police have yet to establish the full circumstances of Sirisha’s death and investigations are ongoing.
